Often, we are asked why we do not serve more counties in our region. The answer to that question is simple and complex. The United Way is a local, volunteer driven effort. Each county has the ability to help local, non-profit agencies and assist in community projects via volunteer involvement. The United Way of West Tennessee serves 14 counties and supports 97 member agencies. As of 2009, Chester, Decatur, Henry and Lake Counties were added to the United Way of West Tennessee service area.
